Hi! Its lovely to meet you!

Hi! I am fortunate enough to be raising my children with the love, wisdom, and support of two incredible grandmothers: my mom and my mother-in-law. From the very beginning, I’ve seen firsthand the tremendous role a grandmother can play in a child’s life — not just in the hugs and cookies (though there are plenty of those!), but in the traditions, guidance, and unconditional love that shapes our family. My mom, the Ultimate Grandma, is a big part of this blog — she just prefers to be ‘behind the scenes’.

During the pandemic, my sisters and I started a book club with my mom. We swapped stories, laughed over memories, and shared so much intergenerational knowledge. We dove into the classics of the 1980s, and in return, we introduced my mom to the ins and outs of “gentle parenting”, “back is best”, and the great Emily Oster. It was a beautiful reminder that every generation has so much value to share.

And then there’s my son — a true “grandma magnet.” No matter where we go, he finds a grandmother to befriend. Four times a week he visits our neighbor who is 93 years old. He calls her his “best friend”. He still asks me about “Susie” the grandma he met in Hawaii who explained the process of making blackberry jam. Through all these connections, I’ve heard the same heartfelt sentiments and thoughtful questions from grandmas. It made me want to create a space that celebrates grandmothers — a place filled with ideas, inspiration, and little sparks of joy.

That’s what you’ll find here: a cozy corner of the internet where (I hope) grandmas can feel inspired, connected, and appreciated for the magical role they play.
